Chiawei is a Ph.D. student in Civil Engineering Department at Texas A&M University. He joined the Urban Resilience.AI Lab in Fall 2020 as a Ph.D. student and research assistant. Chiawei holds his Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and Master's degree in Transportation Engineering from National Taiwan University. Before joining Texas A&M, he worked as a research assistant for a year on a nuclear powerplant evacuation project. His research interests lie in urban network resilience, traveler behavior and the intersection of the two. While not doing research, he enjoys swimming, playing basketball and watching movies.
Akhil started his Ph.D. in Fall 2020. Prior to his Ph.D., He was an undergraduate student in the Urban Resilience Lab in Summer 2019. He earned his B.S. in civil engineering with honors at the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology, Gandhinagar. His research interests lies at the intersection of urban resilience, complex networks, and data science. In his leisure time, he likes to solve the Rubik's cube (2×2, 3×3, 4×4) and play chess.
Hongrak Pak, a collaborative postdoctoral researcher at both the UrbanResilience.AI Lab and the Institute for a Disaster Resilient Texas (IDRT), earned his Ph.D. from the Zachry Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Texas A&M University in 2023. His doctoral research focused on addressing limitations within traditional ML models and developing innovative transfer learning models within the realm of structural engineering. Building upon his prior expertise, his current research is centered around harnessing advanced machine learning techniques for infrastructure and urban resilience.
